At least four persons including a worker of World Health Organisation (WHO) were killed in separate incidents of violence in the metropolis here on Monday. According to police and rescue sources, a man, Farooq, 30, son of Musa, lost his life in an armed ambush near Khadim Solangi Goth in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station.

DSP Qamar Ahmad said the deceased, who was the resident of Dildar Imrani Goth, was polio worker and was associated with WHO. He said the victim was targeted when he was returning home after polio campaign. A bullet-riddle body of a youth was found in the jurisdiction of Pak Colony police station. Police said the identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained. The body was shifted to Edhi Morgue after legal formalities.

Another man identified as Ali Raza, 21, son of Shehzad Raza, was gunned down when he was on the way to work with his friend, Farhan, at Orangi Town no 5. Police said the deceased and his injured friend were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and treatment and added the deceased was the resident of Orangi Town and was the only child of his parents. Following the killing, tension gripped the area where all shops and markets were closed.

A Hakeem, Javeed, 45, son of Anwar Baig, was killed in a drive-by shooting at his Matab (Clinic) located in Future colony in the limits of Sharafi Goth police station. Police said the victim had no dispute with anyone and might have been murdered over sectarian ground. No case was registered till filing of this report.
